Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro with 12GB RAM spotted on TENAA, launch likely soon

After the launch, a new variant of Xiaomi’s Redmi K20 Pro has surfaced on the Chinese certification authority TENAA, and interestingly, it reveals the handset with 12GB of RAM. Notably, the RAM variant hasn’t been announced yet. The company’s first ever flagship Redmi K20 Pro right now tops out at 8GB of RAM. Since the 12GB variant has now been certified, we can expect its launch shortly.

As per the TENAA listing, the Redmi K20 Pro, which is powered by the mighty Snapdragon 855 SoC, is paired with 6GB, 8GB, and 12GB of RAM. However, in reality, there are only 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM variants of the handsets accompanied by 64GB/ 128GB and 128GB/ 256GB storage, respectively. The company may introduce the 12GB RAM option to compete against the OnePlus 7 Pro’s similar RAM variant. Furthermore, the new colour options: pink, white, green, purple, and grey, for the phone have also leaked. These will join the already announced blue, red, and black shades of the K20 Pro.

Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro specifications

To recall, the Redmi K20 Pro comes with 6.39-inch AMOLED display with a full-HD+ resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and 7th-gen in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone rocks a triple camera setup at the back panel that features 48-megapixel + 13-megapixel + 8-megapixel sensors. The front camera that pop-up from top of the frame gets a 20-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling. The handset runs Android 9 Pie-based MIUI 10 out of the box and houses 4,000mAh battery with 27W fast charging tech.

The Redmi K20 Pro has been launched only in China so far. The availability in other markets, including in India, isn’t known at the moment. Speculations are that the handset could make its way in markets outside China with Poco F2 moniker but in India, the handset’s name has been confirmed to be the same.
