Vivo 120W Super FlashCharge announced; claimed to charge 4,000mAh battery in 13 minutes

“Vivo’s Super FlashCharge technology is claimed to charge a smartphone with 4,000mAh battery from 0 to 50 percent in just 5 minutes and entirely in only 13 minutes”

After teasing the technology recently, Vivo finally introduced the new 120W fast charging technology at the MWC event in Shanghai, China. The Chinese giant is calling the tech “Vivo Super FlashCharge 120W” and is literally the fastest charging technology in the world currently, beating OPPO’s 50W Super VOOC charge. The 120W quick charge uses the new charge pump technology with a maximum charging power of 120W (20V/6A). This is a significant upgrade over the existing 44W technology on the iQOO smartphone.

Furthermore, Super FlashCharge technology is claimed to charge a smartphone with 4,000mAh battery from 0 to 50 percent in just 5 minutes and charge entirely in only 13 minutes. The Super FlashCharge works when the device is charged with the company bundled adapter and the USB Type-C cable. Vivo replaces the voltage reduction circuit with the MCU (Micro Controller Unit) that is placed inside the charging adapter and prevents the device from overloading. The Battery Management System (BMS) will be responsible for balancing the charging capabilities to offers longevity.

Separately, Vivo is scheduled to launch the Z1 Pro smartphone in India on July 3rd. It’s the first phone from the brand to sport a punch-hole design in India. The handset is confirmed to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 SoC and pack a 6.53-inch full-HD+ LCD display. Vivo Z1 Pro features triple rear cameras with a 16MP primary sensor, an 8MP secondary shooter and a 2MP depth unit for portrait shots. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie with FunTouch OS 9.0 custom skin on top with ‘Multi Turbo’ technology. We should know the pricing and availability details soon.
