Alleged Honor V12 pops up on TENAA and FCC certification websites

“The V12 is expected to come as the successor to the Honor V10 that was launched last year”

Honor launched its flagship device – the V10 or View10 (review), as it was globally called, late last year. Now, its successor seems to have been spotted on a couple of certification websites much ahead of the actual launch. What’s more intriguing is that Honor seems to be skipping a generation this time around and going straight to the Honor V12 instead of V11.

The handset that was recently spotted is seen bearing the model number – X-honor V12 on both Chinese TENAA and America’s FCC website. This is in line with what Honor did with the last generation View 10 as well. The smartphone was first unveiled in China, which was followed closely by a global launch event in London, UK. We can expect the upcoming flagship to follow a similar timeline. What’s interesting to note here is that the V10 or View 10 didn’t turn up on certification websites last year until November. The early spotting of the Honor V12 could indicate that the brand might launch the handset ahead of the usual timeline i.e. in the last quarter of the year.

Unfortunately, both these listings do not reveal anything significant about the upcoming smartphone except that it will come with support for LTE, dual-SIM standby and boot Android operating system. However, considering that it comes as a successor to the Honor View10, we can expect similar or better specs from the upcoming smartphone. To recall, the View10 comes with a 5.99-inch, 18:9 full HD+ display, Kirin 970 SoC mated to 6GB of RAM, 16MP + 20MP rear camera, 13MP selfie shooter and a 3,750mAh battery.

While there are no details regarding the launch timeframe or specs of the Honor V12, we will bring you the latest updates as and when they emerge, so stay tuned.
