“After the Nokia X6, the X5 is expected to be the brand’s second smartphone with a notch display”

In a strange turn of events, HMD Global had to call off the launch event of the Nokia X5, which was supposed to take place last week. In terms of specs, the Nokia X5 is expected to flaunt a 5.85-inch HD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and an iPhone X-like notch. Reports suggest that the phone could come in two models with different chipsets. One of the variants is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Helio P60 SoC, instead of the Helio P23, suggested by previous leaks. There are also rumours that the high-end version of the smartphone will be fuelled by the Snapdragon 710 chipset.

Each Nokia X5 model is rumoured to be further paired with 3GB / 4GB / 6GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB internal storage. The storage can be further expandable via a microSD card. Like previous offerings from the Finnish brand, the phone can be expected to be a part of Android One initiative and ship with Oreo out of the box. The handset might be fueled by 3,000mAh battery and sport a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Nokia X5 is expected to cost RMB 1,000 (roughly Rs 10,270) for the base variant, while the high-end model is likely to retail somewhere around Rs 15,000. We shall have more details about the smartphone soon, so stay tuned.
