“Apple will reportedly launch three iPhones this year, with the iPhone 2018 to be most affordable of the trio”

The launch of the 10th-anniversary iPhone X (review) in 2017, has kept us all guessing what the next-gen Apple smartphones will be called. With three models on the horizon, there were rumours that the company will brand them as iPhone 9, 9 Plus, and so on. Now, a fresh report by MobileFun claims that the 2018 iPhone models will rather be christened as the iPhone 2018, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Plus.

According to the MobileFun, the iPhone XS Plus is the name of the alleged 6.5-inch iPhone variant, whereas the iPhone (2018) and iPhone XS monikers are linked with the rumoured 6.1-inch and 5.8-inch iPhone models respectively. The source further gives us a look at the soon-to-be-launched iPhones in the form of dummies, which are in line with the leaks we have seen in the past.

As per the video, all the three iPhones will come with a notch-toting display. The iPhone XS and XS Plus are also expected to come with a dual-camera setup at the rear. The iPhone 2017 is said to be the most affordable version in the lineup and can be seen with a single rear camera and an IPS display. It looks like the next-gen iPhones will also ditch Touch ID, and come with a TrueDepth camera up front for 3D face scanning and creating Animojis.

The specs of the upcoming iPhones are scarce right now, but we do know that it will run on iOS 12 out of the box. Moreover, the phones are speculated to be available in black, grey, white, blue, red and orange colours. Coming to the pricing, the iPhone XS Plus is likely to retail for $1000 (~Rs 70,000), iPhone XS at $800 (~Rs 60,000), and iPhone 2018 at $700 (~Rs 50,000).
