OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5T Android Pie-based HydrogenOS with refreshed UI starts rolling out

OnePlus has started rolling out the HydrogenOS beta based on Android Pie to OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T smartphone users in China. Interestingly, the company recently began testing the skin on the devices in a closed beta program before it was leaked for everyone. The Chinese phonemaker is now allowing the public to beta test the Android Pie version of HydrogenOS for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T units. The update is said to bring a few new features such as a brand new UI, weather accuracy, and better communication support to the devices.
Since HydrogenOS is OnePlus’ custom skin in China, the features are currently limited to the people living in the country. Outside China, users are expected to get the features with a future OxygenOS update. However, as reported by XDA Developers, HydrogenOS based on Android Pie can be installed on global OnePlus devices, but with some complications like non-working fingerprint sensor on OnePlus 5.
